Description

Cornus alba hedging, the Red Dogwood, is easily recognised for its bright red stems. Adds year round colour to any site and also provides treats for wildlife with white berries that turn blue in late summer - a favourite with robins Robins and Mistle thrushes. 'Sibirica' is a medium-sized suckering deciduous shrub forming a thicket of slender red stems, becoming bright crimson in winter.

The leaves are ovate and turn reddish in Autumn. Colourful-barked dogwoods are typically grown for winter colour, providing lots of colour in the bare winter garden. Red twig dogwoods are very hardy and do well in sunny sites or partial shade and especially in moist areas. Will grow 40/60cm per year.
